Overview
Conference 1 Over the last seven years, The Nelrod Consortium Conference has provided strategies and tools to improve agency performance through a variety of PHA operational workshops. Topics have addressed the latest housing trends in PHA Management, Agency Operations, Maintenence, Capital Fund Program Administration and Procurement .

At our previous conference, over 400 attendees participated in 14 operational workshops. Keynote speaker, Paula Blunt, General Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Public and Indian Housing addressed highlights of proposed changes to housing such as the Public Housing Assessment System (PHAS), the PHA Plan and Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) funding. In addition, Ms. Blunt stressed HUD's commitment in facilitating the transition to asset management.

Entertainment

2008 Conference Entertainers


John Padon, An Emmy award winning comedian, will perform a no holds barred comedy routine.

Johnny Potash and Cory Sachs, musical impersonators, will provide Charlie Daniels and Reba style entertainment.

Jeff Hobson, The Hilarious Host of Las Vegas, will entertain attendees with a magic and comedy routine.

Hotel Information

Please Note: Hotel room block is almost sold out. Hotel cut-off date is January 25, 2008. (After this date the hotel will take reservations on a space avaliable basis at the prevailing hotel rate.)

We have secured special Nelrod group rates for Hotel Package: Includes special pricing for newly renovated guestrooms, shuttle service to/from airport, shuttle service  to/from the strip, Light Continental Breakfast and Full Three Course Lunch with Entertainment on Wednesday and Thursday. (Participants not using Nelrod Group Hotel Package will be charged an additional daily fee.)

Courtyard rooms (non-smoking only) on Tuesday-Thursday are $99.00 and $119.00 on Friday-Saturday . Tower rooms are $119.00 on Tuesday-Thursday and $129.00 on Friday-Saturday .  In order to obtain this rate, reservations must be received by January 25, 2008 (group rate cut-off date).  After that date hotel reservations will be accepted on a space available at the prevailing hotel rate.  A credit card or deposit in the amount of (1) night’s room and tax is to be received no later than 14 days from the date of making the reservation or reservations will be cancelled.  Credit Cards are charged immediately for 1st night.  Note: FY 2007 Federal Per Diem rate for Las Vegas is $178.00.

All rooms come with cable TV, high speed internet access and wireless access, telephone, hair dryers, iron and ironing boards. Hotel amenities include two pools and jacuzziess, fitness room and a 24-hour self-service business center. Lodging Tax is currently 9%. High Speed Internet Access is $9.99 for and 24hour period (upon request).

For individuals making their own reservations please call (800) 634-3101 and identify themselves as attendees of the 2008 Annual Nelrod Consortium Conference or Reservation ID (PCINELR).

A credit card or deposit in the amount of (1) night’s room and tax is to be received no later than 14 days from the date of making the reservation or reservations will be cancelled.   Credit Cards are charged immediately for 1st night.
